Introduction to the Tensegrity Repair Series

TENSEGRITY is a compound word combining the words tension + integrity. The Tensegrity Series, created by Gioia Irwin, is a sequence of movements designed to break down adhesions, rehydrate, tone, strengthen and bring more flexibility and function to the energy network of the body's connective tissue system. The movements appear simple, but our bodies become stronger and more resilient.

In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn the history and anatomical benefits of the series, the basic movements of  the series and how they can be incorporated into any yoga class or home practice.

About Sarah:
Sarah learned the Tensegrity Repair Series from, and continues to study with, Michelle Schroeder, one of the direct students of Gioia Irwin. She has been practicing the series for 3 years and incorporates the movements and philosophy of the series into her yoga therapy sessions and yoga classes. Sarah has seen amazing results in deep core strength and a great reduction in shoulder pain since focusing her personal practice on the series.

Yoga for Differently Abled Bodies

Yoga is uniquely suited to be applied as a therapeutic tool for students with disabilities. Guiding students with disabilities requires us as teachers to step out of the role of yoga expert and into the role of investigator and collaborator with the student. The good news is that many of the principles that make yoga effective for neurotypical students also apply to students who experience disability.

$30 Virtual Workshop is part of the True Self Yoga Teacher Training Program.

About Anastasia:
This workshop will draw on my three year immersion into working with a number of students who each had very different experiences of disability. My discoveries made through observation and experiment about what approaches were effective and why, and what the obstacles and unique challenges are for both teachers and students working with disability. Working directly with students who experience disability is a richly rewarding practice and a developing field. Join me for this 90 minute workshop to learn more about how you can contribute and develop your own practice.

About Karin

I first tried Rolfing when I graduated from college, hoping that it would help with the back pain I'd had since high school. It turned out that improving my posture through Rolfing was the key.

The 10-session series resolved the chronic back pain, and it also dramatically improved my athletic ability. When I began practicing yoga, the movements felt easy and strong because my joints were better positioned and my movement was more coordinated. I trained to run a 5K without much discomfort, learned to ski as an adult, and got my blackbelt in Aikido. I tried each of those activities prior to receiving Rolfing, and felt a huge change after my Rolfing series. Rolfing helped me access my natural ability to move.

Now I've been a Rolfer for 15 years, and I love doing this work. Sometimes it is like following clues to unlock a puzzle, so we work together to solve the mystery.
